What does Impact Consulting do?

We partner with universities, employers, governments and foundations to deliver guaranteed, real-world professional experiences for students. We manage the whole process end to end, from sourcing host organisations and designing the brief through to supporting students and collecting feedback.

Who do you work with?

Universities looking to embed work-based learning at scale, employers wanting to engage with student talent, governments and foundations funding youth employment, and students seeking practical experience alongside their studies.

Is it really free for students and employers?

Yes. Our experiences are fully funded by universities, governments or foundations, so there are no fees and no hidden costs for students or host organisations.

What types of experiences do you offer?

Five distinct solutions under one roof: Industry Projects, Placements, Dissertation Projects, Internships and Global Experiences. We help you choose the right fit for your cohort and goals.

What subject areas do you cover?

All of them, including Business, Law, Engineering, Technology, Creative, Public Health and more. Every experience is matched to the student's subject area and academic level.

How do we get started?

Book a free consultation through the site and a member of our team will talk through your goals and recommend the best way forward.

Are you a recruitment agency?

No. We are a work-based learning provider. Rather than simply making introductions, we design and deliver complete, structured professional experiences and support students and partners throughout.

What makes Impact Consulting different?

We are an end-to-end provider that guarantees professional experience at scale, across every subject area and all five solution types. We handle everything, so universities and employers get the outcome without the operational burden.

How established is your network?

We work with 50+ university partners and a global network of 3,000+ organisations, including names such as Google, Accenture, Hitachi, WWF and UNICEF.

Where are you based?

We are UK-based and work with universities and employers across the UK, with international reach for partners who need it.

Who actually delivers the experiences?

Our team manages delivery throughout, and every student is assigned a dedicated Experience Success Coordinator, a real person they can contact at any time during their experience.

Do you only operate in the UK?

The UK is our primary market, but our employer network and our Global Experiences solution allow us to design and deliver experiences internationally.

Is there any cost to the university?

We work with you to find the right funding model for your institution. Many programmes are funded through existing employability or course budgets, and we are transparent about costs from the first conversation so there are no surprises.

Can experiences be credit-bearing or embedded into the curriculum?

Yes. Many of our partners embed our experiences into their courses as a credit-bearing module, with students receiving academic credit on completion. Every experience is designed around your programme.

How much time does this require from your staff?

Very little. We handle company sourcing, brief design, student coordination and feedback collection. Your team can track progress through our Staff Portal, and stay as involved as they would like to be.

Which subject areas and student levels can you support?

All subject areas, from undergraduate to postgraduate to executive education. Each experience is matched to the academic level and discipline of the students involved.

How do you ensure quality and consistency at scale?

We deliver to a defined, repeatable process and assign a dedicated Experience Success Coordinator to every student. The result is 98% of students reporting they feel more employable and an average support rating of 9.4/10.

How do you support UKVI compliance and student tracking?

Our Staff Portal provides structured attendance and engagement tracking with a clear audit trail, giving your team real-time visibility and supporting UKVI compliance.

How quickly can we get started?

After an initial consultation we can scope a programme quickly and align delivery to your academic calendar, whether that is term time, a specific module window or the summer.
